FAQ
- How do I calculate how much laminate flooring I need?
- Work out the room area (length × width), add about 10% for cuts and waste, then divide by the coverage of one box (printed on the pack) and round up. This calculator does it and estimates the cost.
- How much flooring waste should I allow?
- Allow 10% for straight rooms, and up to 15% for diagonal layouts, angled rooms, or long planks in a small space.
- How many square metres are in a box of laminate?
- It varies by product — commonly 1.8–2.5 m² per box. Always use the coverage printed on the pack; the default here is 2.2 m².
- Does this include underlay and trims?
- This estimates the flooring boxes. Create a free BuilderBuddi account to build the full flooring estimate with underlay, trims, and labour.
