How the fencing calculation works

posts            = ⌈run length ÷ post spacing⌉ + 1
panels           = ⌈run length ÷ post spacing⌉
concrete bags    = ⌈posts × concrete per post ÷ bag volume⌉
cost             = run × price/m + posts × price + concrete × price

FAQ

How do I calculate how many fence posts I need?
Divide the fence run length by the post spacing and add one for the end post. Spacing depends on the system — around 2.4–2.5 m for palisade and timber, up to 3 m for diamond mesh. This calculator uses the right spacing per type.
How much concrete do I need per fence post?
Roughly 0.02–0.03 m³ per post — about one 25 kg bag each for a standard palisade or timber post. Deeper or larger posts need more.
How far apart should fence posts be?
Follow the panel or system spacing: ~2.5 m for palisade and Clearvu, 2.4 m for timber, and up to 3 m for diamond mesh strained wire.
Does this include gates and labour?
